Maple Lake Public School

Maple Lake Community Education gives youth an opportunity to continue to learn and grow outside of school. We believe in approaching curriculum from a creative perspective, letting “kids be kids” throughout the learning process. Participants will enjoy the opportunity to explore learning in ways that best suit their interests and abilities. Our programs are designed to introduce curriculum in a fun, positive environment.

Community Ed- 3rd Grade Girls Basketball (ended)
#: #0320   ID:    Section: B20F
****NEW PLAN for 3rd and 4th Grade Boys and Girls*** They will be teamed together and will be playing in the Lakes League. Here are a list of teams in the Lakes League- Maple Lake, Annandale, Dassel-Cokato, HLWW, and Kimball. This is an opportunity to have your 3rd grade student experience what basketball is like. In this program, players will practice twice a week and will travel to other LOCAL towns to participate in games. Games will be played on Saturday mornings. Parents are responsible for travel to and from each practice and game.
Once a team is full (8-10 kids) a wait list will be formed and we will create more team if we have enough interest  (1 coach + 8-10 kids join = another team.) Teams must be made up of 8-10 students and 1 coach.  We would love to have 2 coaches per team to share the responsibility and coaching duties. If you are interested in being a volunteer coach, please contact me at 320-963-5991 or email me at

Practice dates will vary depending on coach availability. No Practice on Wednesdays. Practices will begin Mid-November and will be based on gym availability.
Teams practice weekday evenings, once or twice a week depending on gym availability. No parents will be allowed in the gym during practice, unless you have volunteered to help coach a team.

Looking ahead:
If we have enough interest, games will be scheduled December through February on Saturdays.   Parental transportation is required to all practices and games. Players will receive a Jersey and Shorts as part of their registration. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and in LOCAL towns.

At this point in time, if we are able to participate in games, there will be a limited number of spectators allowed into games, no concessions will be available, kids will be required to wear a mask into the building, but not while practicing or during games. More details and information to come.

The plan as of now-
Limited to 1-2 spectators per player, limited seating and no concessions at this time.
Standings will be kept.
Parents are required to transport their child to and from each practice and game.

Please understand at this time, we are doing our best, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, scheduling limitations and trying to plan for future events we aren't 100% sure what basketball will look like, but understand we are doing our best to have a 'season.' We will make every effort to keep people updated and informed.

If you have any questions, are interested in coaching please call me at 320-963-5991 or email me at
